#1 04 grand prix blower motor does not mold on start up (intermittent)

04-16-2013 sometimes when i go to start my car and the blower dial is on the blower its soul wont go on. usually one hit to the dash and it will fire upwards. likewise i can controll it on whatsoever speed when it does work. whatever ideas? bad motor? liberate electrify?

04-16-2013 I would say unspeakable motor would always test it with a test light before u hit it and see if the light lights up

04-21-2013 it did non come up along yesturday and it was identical arctic out. so i hit the blower drive directley and it came on very slow and i hit IT over again and it worked dependable

01-03-2016 Substitute blower centrifugal. I've had this in many cars. Shortly hitting won't help any longer.

01-04-2016 Add another for blower motor, my 05' did the same matter, oasis't had an release with it. There was a guy that had a corky blower resistor not to long ago and had the unvaried symptoms....

01-19-2016 Mine's beginning to fink, and kick up a mild burnt pencil eraser smell; I deman $62 for a new one with squirrel cage (not unfit monetary value), but a unexampled blower will be passing in very shortly!

01-19-2016 I have the aforementioned topic and thought it was the electric fan efferent so I replaced that and I still have the same issue. Make in for you screen the parts soh you are not throwing money at it the like I did. Mine needed a new resistor.

02-23-2016 Just FYI for those unsuspecting...there is a known problem with the air recess/water deflector and leaks on the blower motor and resistor in much W dead body models including the 04+ Grand Prixs. I know because my resistance failed completely in my '05 GP in 2009. First the problem showed up every bit a puddle of water in the passenger floor board in the mornings after a night of rain. It got penitent truehearted and only later all frying the resistor did I figure out where to leak was. After I fixed the leak I replaced the blower centrifugal, resistance and the cabin line percolate. I had to replace the SRS building block in 2012 or 2011 not sure. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the water issue because it got so bad that it went into the backseat floor area before I fixed information technology.
I guess some owners English hawthorn not get puddles of water just but just adequate to cause some issues...

I over ahead using permanent silicone to seal the deflector to the windscreen. That was after installing a homemade cover over the blower to debar whatever pee that might come in. More insurance than just the foam piece I thought. It has been neat for the lowest 8 long time or so.

02-23-2016 I didn't call back this was an issue with 04+ Grand Prix's, I've heard of it on other years but not 04+. The link you posted is to a grand am site.

I forgot they made a rising part for this issue. If my silicone puzzle out ever starts coming apart surgery I get a fresh windshield I may get the G partially. I took a thick piece of cardboard and put together information technology in a ziploc bag...siliconed the bag shut in and tucked it under the teensy-weensy rubber cowling piece....and I used some gasket sealant to contain them in seat. It's permanent and works great...no 1 can escort it soh information technology doesn't matter. I don't even know if they were making that part at the sentence I fixed my leak. Same construct. Stef

02-24-2016 1999 Big PRIX. have REPLACED RESISTOR And blower motor not at the same time. Newborn blower motor is clamant you can find out bearing at down in the mouth speed. Recommend getting Gram motor non aftermarket.
